Studio 1 – Recording a Mic in the Booth

These instructions will guide you to record a mic in Studio 1’s vocal booth. For recording in the control room, instead, click here (site under construction).

Assuming you have already set up a microphone on a stand:

    1. In your DAW, create a (mono) audio channel and make the input Analog 5.
    2. Plug the microphone into Mic Input 29 in the booth (D Panel).
    3. Turn on Neve 1073DPX Pre-amp.
    4. Ensure all of the buttons of the pre-amp are OUT.
    5. On the bantam patch-bay: connect Neve 1073 Line Output to RME Line Input 5.
    6. Adjust the red MIC and grey LEVEL controls to set an appropriate record level.
